Integrated Health Services
CHAT utilizes a variety of integrated and mobile health interventions to deliver family planning information and services to under served communities in ways that are adapted to local cultures and realities.
CHAT's motor and camel mobile health services provide integrated health services with an emphasis on our innovative strategy of holistic family planning, that incorporates ecological awareness & sensitization.
Basic Curative Treatment
Basic curative services provide an entry point for CHAT’s holistic integrated family planning service intervention
CHAT provides treatment for many ailments, such as upper respiratory track infections (URTI), malaria, deworming, diarrhoea/dysentery, eye & ear infections, skin infections, sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and many more.

Maternal and Child Health
CHAT assists the MoH where and when possible to provide or refer:
- All the essential childhood immunizations
- Child weight check clinics
- Antenatal clinics (ANC) for pregnant women
- Postnatal clinics (PNC) for follow up after delivery
HIV/AIDS
Kenya's HIV prevalence rate is 4.9%. (2022)
CHAT integrates a number of relevant HIV/AIDS service components to all of our interventions, which include:
It is Ministry of Health (MoH) policy that all patients treated are tested for HIV/AIDS.
CHAT integrates a number of relevant HIV/AIDS service components to all of our interventions, which include:
- HIV/AIDS counseling and testing
- Referrals for anti-retroviral treatment (ARVs)
- Prevention of mother-to-child transmission (PMTCT) also included in maternal and child health
- Treatment of opportunistic infections (OI)
- Treatment of sexually transmitted infections (STIs) included also in ‘Basic Curative Treatment’
- Condom distribution
- Prevention of transmission with positives

COVID 19
CHAT includes a component of COVID 19 awareness in its behaviour change communications (bcc). CHAT continues to follow GoK guidelines and policies on the changing situation.
Tuberculosis (TB)
Working closely with the MOH and in partnership with AMREF Health Africa, CHAT is supported by the Global Fund New Funding Model to implement the following interventions:
- Identifying and referring new contact smears
- Identifying TB patients who have interrupted treatment
- Providing health & nutritional education for TB patients via household visits.
- TB Lab networking for sample referrals (GoK/MoH facilities)
- Expanding referral networks and treatment sites between private and government facilities
Behavior Change
CHAT includes a strong component of Behavior Change Communication in all its interventions. The BCC activities are delivered by CHAT and their CORPs through a variety of outreach strategies. BCC covers various topics including:
- Family Planning
- Environmental conservation and natural resource utilization
- Maternal and Child Health
- HIV/AIDS
- Tuberculosis- TB
- COVID 19
- Gender-Based Violence- GBV
Advocacy and Referrals
CHAT and their CORP partners strengthen grassroot structures to provide underserved communities with platforms to advocate and provide referrals from and too for the following concerns:
- Gender-Based Violence- GBV
- Disability
- Mental Health issues
- Community natural resource utilisation e.g water and forest
- Female genital mutilation - FGM
